Causes of Tire Defects

Tire defects can cause very dangerous accidents that result in terrible injuries to the occupants of cars. Unfortunately, it is difficult to determine from the outset whether a tire will be defective or safe.

Tire defects start as small cracks on the side of a tire. They are frequently due to design and manufacturing defects. Another common cause of tire separation is the failure of metal tire components to stick to the non-metal components. In order to make the metal and non-metal stick, the metal is covered in brass. This is then treated with a sulfur-based type of glue which makes the metal and non-metal stick. However, if the sulfur and other compounds aren’t in the correct ratio to each other, incomplete adhesion occurs. This results in a defective tire.
