Teens and driving are two dangerous elements even in the best of circumstances, but when a driver of any age introduces alcohol into the equation, terrible consequences can result.  Unfortunately, such was the case in regards to a recent accident that occurred in rural Sheboygan, where three young passengers were injured in a car crash.  The car was being driven by someone who had alcohol in her system, according to the Sheboygan Press.

“Three Sheboygan teens were hospitalized early Sunday morning after the car they were riding in veered into a ditch and started on fire, according to the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department.

Alcohol was a factor in the crash, which occurred about 2:10 a.m. in the Town of Sherman, said Sgt. Brad Jorsch.

According to Jorsch:

Katherine A. Yenko, 19, of Cascade, was driving eastbound on Indian Mound Road when her vehicle went into the north ditch as she approached Pelishek Road, a T-intersection where Indian Mound ends. Yenko’s 1997 Dodge Neon then struck the west ditch of Pelishek and vaulted over the road, coming to rest on the east side of Pelishek and starting on fire.

Yenko was not hurt, but three passengers in her car were taken to St. Nicholas Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.”
