Snowplow Driver Won’t Be Charged for Serious Crash

Posted on Thursday, March 27th, 2008 at 8:03 am

A Wisconsin snowplow driver won’t face criminal charges stemming from a December accident in which the plow hit a passenger vehicle.

The accident occurred in December when the driver of the snowplow hit a car when making a U-turn. The driver of the car was hospitalized for several weeks with head injuries. Now, she still struggles to walk and to talk.

The special prosecutor for the case decided not to file charges because they would have to prove gross negligence to make the charge stick. The police at the scene feel that the plow driver failed to yield the right-of-way when making the U-turn.

The District Attorney for the county did not feel he should take the case as they were both county employees.

Injuries Reported Following 2 Roll-Over Accidents

Posted on Wednesday, March 5th, 2008 at 5:03 am

Two different roll-over accidents occurred over the weekend. The first occurred Friday morning and the second Sunday.

In the first accident, which occurred Friday, a 1999 black Chevy SUV rolled. The vehicle was passing another vehicle and when it returned to the original lane, it hit a patch of ice and lost control. This caused the car. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and it was unclear whether or not he or she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The second accident, which occurred Saturday, also involved a Chevy SUV. This was a 1990 Chevy Blazer. In this accident, the driver hit a patch of ice and rolled into a snowbank. This driver was also ejected from the vehicle. It is still unknown whether the driver was wearing a seatbelt.

Both drivers were taken to nearby hospitals. Their conditions are unknown and the accidents are still under investigation.
