Posted on Monday, May 18th, 2009 at 5:36 am

Between today and May 31, you may notice more police along roads all over the state. This is part of a Click It or Ticket campaign that approximately 350 agencies are taking part in.

Not only will there be more patrols for motorists without seatbelts, but there will also be an increase in media that encourages seat belt use. The aim of the campaign is to prevent injuries and deaths in traffic collisions.

Bicycle Deaths in Wisconsin

Posted on Monday, May 4th, 2009 at 5:32 am

The results of bicycle accidents are rarely good. In 2007, there were approximately 1,100 bicycle injuries in traffic in Wisconsin and 43,000 nationwide. This year, an estimated 700 to 800 people will be killed in bicycle accidents. Over a dozen will likely be from Wisconsin.

It is important to be on the lookout for cyclists when on the road. One of the most common causes of bicycle accidents is the driver of a car not seeing the cyclist until too late.
