More than 12,000 Kia Sorentos recalled for defective transmissions

Posted under 92e28f06-a369-4bca-b2ef-47576de052e3

A recent recall of more than 12,000 2011 Kia Sorentos was issued by Kia Motors due to defective transmissions in the vehicles.

The recall was issued after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that the intermediate shaft was misaligned, which caused a whirring sound and damage to the transmission. Continuing to drive the vehicle in this condition would lead to a loss of power in the vehicle, thereby causing a crash.

Drivers who have already purchased the 2011 Kia Sorento will have their intermediate shaft repaired at no cost by the vehicle's manufacturers.
