Woman wins slip and fall case against Costco

Posted under Sheboygan premise liability attorneys

A California woman who shattered her knee cap when she slipped and fell in a Costco store has been awarded nearly $415,000 by a jury. She has undergone one surgery to wire her knee back together and may need two more.

The 58 year-old woman was having lunch in the Costco’s food court when she slipped on a puddle of liquid soap in April 2009. According to her attorney, many Costco employees passed the puddle of soap but failed to follow protocol and clean it up.

Due to her injuries, the woman will suffer permanent limited mobility and function of her leg and will suffer a lifetime of pain. $90,000 was awarded for her past and future medical bills and the rest was for her past and future pain and suffering.
