Inflatable slide recalled for fatal design flaw

Posted under dangerous product injury

About 21,000 Banzai in-ground pool water slides are being recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission after it received reports of people getting seriously injured and one woman dying while using the product.

A young mother was killed after the water slide partially deflated, causing her to hit her neck on the concrete edge of the swimming pool. Two others were injured in a similar accident, causing one man to become a quadriplegic and one woman to fracture her neck.

The inflatable water slides were sold in Wal-Mart and Toys R Us stores nationwide from January 2005 to June 2009. If you have purchased this product, stop using it immediately and return it to any Wal-Mart or Toys R Us location for a full refund.
