Three people were killed in Neillsville last week after part of a road was washed away by heavy rain. According to the Journal Sentinel, about 50 feet of the County Highway M in Clark County was washed away, leaving a 12-15 foot ditch.
A Milwaukee couple headed to Greenwood were the first victims. The husband, 56, and wife, 57, were killed instantly when their pickup truck fell into the ditch. The third victim was a 24 year-old woman whose SUV landed on top of the truck.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. The area received one to three inches of rain the day of the fatal accidents.
