A 19 year-old woman who caused a fatal crash after excessively speeding was sentenced on Monday in Fond du Lac County to one year in county jail and six years probation. The teenager was driving with friends when, upon reaching 108 mph, lost control of her SUV and flipped it several times, killing three passengers.
According to the Green Bay Press Gazette, the girl was charged with three counts of negligent vehicular homicide to which she pleaded no contest. She will begin her sentence in six months and will be allowed release for work and community service.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison student and her family claims she was peer pressured into speeding that night, allegations that the victims’ families strongly deny.
