Senior dies in St. Croix County two-vehicle accident

An elderly woman was killed in a motor vehicle crash that occurred in St. Croix County, Wisconsin Monday, May 13 in the afternoon.

Seventy-four-year-old Darlene Breault of Houlton was killed when the driver’s side of her 2001 Hyundai Accent was struck by 27-year-old Becky Lee Markfort’s 2004 Mazda Tribute, which was heading north on STH 35/64 as Breault was leaving a Houlton parking lot.

According to the St. Croix County Sheriff’s office, the victim was pronounced dead by paramedics who responded to the scene of the accident.

On the other hand, Markfort, who is from New Richmond, was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul for treatment of the injuries she sustained. Also injured was her 25-year-old passenger Michelle Frazee, whose wounds were mostly on her neck.
