The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office reported that a semi tractor-trailer and a car crashed, killing two people in Elk Mound, Wisconsin on Wednesday, October 9.
According to the Dunn County Sheriff’s press release, two victims were found dead and another seriously injured when officials arrived at the scene around 1:30 a.m.
The car, which contained a driver and two other passengers, was struck by the fully-loaded semi while crossing STH 29.
The semi unit’s driver was not hurt and immediately submitted to a blood test to dismiss allegations of drunk driving or driving while under the influence of a controlled substance.
The car’s occupants were suspected of having consumed alcohol and were not wearing seatbelts.
The investigation is ongoing.
