Sheboygan Boating Accident Emergency Response Under Investigation

by Administrator 30. June 2010 03:15

WHBL reports that, "The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department is continuing its investigation of how the fatal boating accident in Lake Michigan was handled on Friday after some confusion resulted in a delay in finding the overturned craft."

When the call was received there was some concern as to whose jurisdiction it fell under causing a short delay in emergency response.

CBS 5 reported that a 20-foot boat capsized in Lake Michigan. The three passengers were able to be removed from the water by the Coast Guard, but one was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. He had reportedly suffered from a stress-induced heart attack. The other two passengers declined medical attention.
