Around 8:15 this morning, a contractor working on a sewer line cut a gas pipe. Between 9:15am and 12:30pm, 30 nearby residents had to be evacuated from their homes because of the leak.
The amount of gas that leaked into the sewer was at "explosive levels" and was threatening to enter homes. Fortunately, by 1pm the gas had been abated without injuries and residents were allowed to return to their homes.
