16,000 GM cars are being recalled. Nearly 12,000 2012 Chevrolet Impalas and 4,000 2012 Buick LaCrosse are wanted to inspect different possible malfunctions.
So far, no injuries have been reported due to the defects.
Impalas are wanted to make sure the power steering hose was properly installed. The defect was discovered in an Ontario production plant. If the hose was improperly installed, it could cause fluid to leak onto a hot engine, resulting in a fire. LaCrosses will have to have their electronic brake control module reprogrammed to make sure the car's electronic stability system can detect malfunctions.
