La Crosse County Circuit judge has recently sentenced a 20 year-old University of Wisconsin-La Crosse student to seven years in prison for raping a fellow student last fall in his dorm room. He is also ordered to eight years supervised released after he serves his prison sentence.
This summer, a jury found him guilty of second-degree sexual assault and false imprisonment charges. The student faces charges by two other female students for sexual assault. The jury acquitted him of assaulting a second woman. In January, he will stand trial against a woman who says he sexually assaulted her while dancing at a party the same night he raped the first woman. The man claims that the sex was consensual with both women.
