Bodies of five passengers who were on board the Costa Concordia cruise ship were discovered on Thursday. The Costa Concordia crashed into rocks along the Tuscan coast in January and has claimed 30 lives so far. Two passengers are still unaccounted for, including an American couple.
About 4,200 passengers and crew members were on board the cruise ship when it crashed. Francesco Schettino, the ship’s captain, has admitted to prosecutors that he caused the ship wreck by steering too close to shore.
Schettino has been charged with manslaughter and abandoning his ship before all people on board were evacuated. He is currently under house arrest.
