An elderly father and his daughter were seriously hurt Saturday when their house exploded, as were four people who helped rescue them. The blast, which destroyed neighboring homes, occurred in the Milwaukee suburb of Glendale.
The 88-year-old father and his daughter were taken to Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital with serious injuries. According to CNN, a neighbor and a passerby were injured when they went inside the burning home to help the family out of the home.
A firefighter battling the blaze suffered heat exhaustion, and a police officer at the scene was treated for smoke inhalation. At this time, investigators do not know the cause of the explosion.
