A Lake Forest high school student’s death last summer while on a student camping trip has prompted her father to sue Wilderness Ventures, the company that operated the trip, for wrongful death.
The Lake Forester reports that the father claims the company was negligent and acted with willful and wanton conduct. He is seeking more than $300,000 in damages.
The 16-year-old girl was in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, when a 75-foot pine tree fell on top of her. She never regained consciousness. Officials at the Teton County Sheriff’s Office are treating her death as an accident.
