A 64-year-old man who caused a car accident was also responsible for the near electrocution of a Manitowoc boy, according to the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department.
John Krizenesky slammed his vehicle into a power pole, causing live wires to hit eight-year-old Malachi Blanke, who was playing in his grandparents’ front yard in the Town of Rhine. Blanke sustained serious burns on his shoulder and arms, and was taken to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee aboard Flight for Life.
Police investigators said that Krizenesky had apparently lost control of his vehicle, causing him to drive into a ditch and into a electrical pole near the Blanke’s residence.
Police say that Krizenesky could potentially have been driving under the influence when the accident happened.
