Eau Claire’s west side was closed off to vehicles from moving due to a collision between two tractor-trailer semi-truck units that occurred on Monday, October 14 at around 11:45 a.m.

According to the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office, an eastbound semi on Highway 312 hit another semi as it was turning left off the same highway from to Truax Lane near the intersection with Highway 12 West and Texaco Drive. The eastbound semi-truck also struck a passenger vehicle that was idling in the westbound left-turn lane after making contact with the westbound truck.

Neither driver sustained serious injuries.

The westbound (except a single lane) and eastbound lanes of Highway 312 were closed for nearly three hours due to the incident.

The Eau Claire Police Department, the Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Township Fire Department are all investigating the case.
